IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® has launched a dedicated website to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions made by thousands of volunteers since the founding of the organization in 1957.
The interactive website, now available at www.ipc.org/50th, includes stories posted by industry members—from poignant reminiscences to peculiar and funny recounts; copies of congratulatory letters and correspondence from companies such as Siemens and Solectron, as well as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the National Institute of Standards and Technology; and a photo gallery worth more than a thousand words.
For impassioned history buffs, the titles and status of IPC standards published since 1957 will stimulate a further appreciation of the evolution and advancement of the industry, as well as listings of individuals who were instrumental in that development? past IPC presidents, winners of the IPC President’s Award and members of the IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame.
The 50th anniversary site also has links to information on the celebratory events that will take place at IPC Printed Circuits Expo®, APEX® and the Designers Summit, February 20-22, 2007, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, including a nostalgic anniversary reception and dinner, featuring special toasts from some of the industry’s most spirited characters. In addition, a very special exhibition, “Technology Over Time” will be on display standing as a testament to the remarkable achievements of the electronics interconnect industry over the past 50 years.
