The SMTA is organizing a conference titled “The Reality of Lead-Free” to be held in Tianjin, China on November 1 - 3 in conjunction with Bohai Electronics Week. This is an exciting opportunity for your and your company to share information related to lead-free. The SMTA has held four very successful programs in Shanghai and Shenzhen. We feel that this area of North China will be a good venue for us.
As we all recognize, international trade is vital to the continued success of the electronics industry worldwide. We hope you will consider presenting a paper for us.
Presentations in Chinese are requested. We are also looking for short course proposals at this time. The paper topics we are looking to have covered are:
- Alternate Surface Finishes for Pb-Free Assemblies
- Flux Selection for Reflow and Wave Soldering
- Stencil Design for Pb-Free Reflow Processes
- Lead-Free Hand Soldering
- Documentation Requirements for Lead-Free Products
- Friendly Pb-Free Processes for Plastic Packages
- Implementing Lead-Free (case studies)
- Testing of Pb-Free Solder Joints
- Tin Whisker Issues
- Beyond RoHS and WEEE-Green Manufacturing
- Forward Compatibility and Backward Compatibility Issues
If you have an interest, please respond to mailto:joann@smta.org with a short abstract. If you have an office in the Pac Rim we would appreciate it if you would forward this message to them.
Deadline for responses is August 22nd. On behalf of our entire SMTA Board of Directors I thank you for your support of the SMTA and our technical programming worldwide.
