Black opaque conformal coating enhances PCB security

The new Dymax Multi-Cure 9451 is a true black and opaque conformal coating from Intertronics that enhances security of electronic products by covering the printed circuit board and components, hiding them from visual inspection. This is an effective barrier to loss of confidentiality and possible copying or reverse engineering of proprietary designs, in addition to its ability to improve circuit reliability in harsh conditions. Dymax 9451 is a UV/light and heat cure coating suitable for most circuit assemblies. It may be applied manually or

in automatic spray equipment, in a single pass of up to 0.125mm thickness. Coating which finds its way into shadowed areas is cured using a secondary heat process. For thicker coating requirements the material can be applied in multiple passes. It becomes immediately tack free after light curing, helping to avoid handling defects such as fingerprints which may be left on boards if they are handled too soon and protecting against other damage caused by stacking and arranging PCBs during processing. Dymax 9451 can be applied to a variety of substrates including glass reinforced epoxy laminates, glass and stainless steel with a good adhesion. Whilst Dymax 9451 coating has been developed to cover sensitive information, it can be reworked/removed without damage to the underlying circuitry.

Peters team strengthened by industrial engineer

Benjamin Alfes started his professional career with Peters as an Assistant to the Management. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of Industrie 4.0 he will proceed, in the frame of his first large-scale project, to an unprejudiced analysis of all current workflows in our facility (Production and Shipping) by calling everything into question. Based on the results Mr Alfes will elaborate a concrete approach for “Production and Shipping 2020” by which he will propose solutions in respect of automation, standardisation, capacity utilisation/optimisation etc. All further plans and investments will be arranged in accordance with this study. He brings along excellent results within his Master of Science in „Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering“ conferred by the RWTH Aachen University, paired with one semester of studies abroad at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

While for his bachelor thesis he studied a classical detail problem from the field of mechanical engineering and plant construction, he developed in the frame of his master thesis, a “Process-oriented metric for the quantification of Industrie 4.0.benefits”.

Moreover, he acquired practical skills and knowledge of the industry when he worked for Nordson Benelux in Maastricht, Continental in Aachen, Saint Gobain in Aachen and Henkel in Düsseldorf.

Ventec International doubles IMS material manufacturing

Ventec International Group has doubled its B-series Insulated Metal Substrate (IMS) materials production capacity at its Jiangyin, China facility. The company has invested USD 2 million in leading edge production equipment that boost IMS materials produc tion capacity 100% above prior levels. To meet the growing demand for high performance IMS materials that deliver an ever-increasing level of thermal performance, reliability and quality, particularly for automotive and other LED lighting and DC power conversion applications, Ventec has invested in new manufacturing equipment at its Jiangyin, China facility. Following a successful initial trial period, the latest production line, which includes a Resin Coater, automated build up, aluminum surface treating equipment, and an inline High Pot Tester, is now fully operational for mass production. Along with the significant capacity expansion, the latest investment also ensures enhanced production capability for Ventec’s VT-4B family of thermally conductive IMS, which deliver an unprecedented level of thermal performance through their established ceramic-filled halogen-free dielectric technology. Multilayered constructions are made possible through resin-coated foil and resin-coated film options. Ventec’s General Manager Jason Chung said the company is on track with its ambitious global growth plan which includes strategic investment in new technologies and production equipment that expand its product offerings and leverage production resources. “With the market need for ever-increasing thermal performance, Vantec’s IMS Materials product pipeline and manufacturing capacity expansion are now well positioned to cost-effectively meet the needs of customers around the globe,” Chung said. Mark Goodwin, Ventec’s COO Europe & USA, added “the Jiangyin facility’s expanded production capacity positions Ventec to serve as a leading high-volume, high-quality supplier of materials to customers requiring reliable IMS solutions,”.
