Marco Reyes joins Dymax as Senior Regional Sales Manager

Dymax Corporation announced the appointment of Marco Reyes as the Senior Regional Sales Manager – West. While reporting to Mike Acker, Americas Sales Director, Marco will have the responsibility of providing key service in helping manufacturers in the western region solve their most complex application problems and reduce manufacturing costs. He will also continually enhance commercial effectiveness of the Americas’ sales and service through direct supervisory responsibility for the Americas’ sales engineers, territory managers and inside sales representatives. Prior to joining Dymax, Marco was the Southwestern Regional Sales Manager for Simco-Ion Technology Group located in Hatfield, PA . He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, Tijuana, Baja California. Dymax Corporation develops innovative oligomer, adhesive, coating, dispensing, and light-curing systems for applications in a wide range of markets. Fleming named President and CEO of Syncro Corporation

Syncro Corporation has announced the promotion of Larry Fleming to president and chief executive officer (CEO). Fleming was previously Syncro’s executive vice president and general manager. He earlier served in a diverse set of roles at Syncro that included corporate vice president, programs & system integration. He replaces Ed Childress, who has formally announced his retirement effective July 1. “Larry’s role in helping Syncro continue to evolve as a superior quality provider of mission critical system integration services along with his overall knowledge of the Company and our markets makes him an exceptionally strong choice to succeed me in leading the company as it continues to grow its customer base and capabilities,” said Ed Childress. Fleming has over three decades of experience in the electronics industry including 19 years with Reliance Electric/Rockwell Automation in a variety of technical, marketing, sales and product management positions. Fleming received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University. He has also attended Rockwell Automation’s Executive Leadership Program. STI acquires new AOI system from Nordson YESTECH

STI Electronics, Inc. announced that it has acquired a new Nordson YESTECH FX-940 ULTRA 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system. This new AOI system provides STI’s contract assembly services with a significant improvement in throughput with the ability to inspect 1.5 million components per hour. The system’s accuracy rate will give customers a level of confidence far exceeding that of visual inspection or other AOI systems using older technology. The new image processing integrates 3D inspection, color inspection, normalized correlation and rule-based algorithms. Coupled with advanced LED lighting, it provides complete inspection coverage with an unmatched low false failure rate. Mark McMeen, STI’s Vice President of Engineering Services, explains: “The majority of STI’s customers require high reliability for their products. This new system will help STI provide its customers with the manufacturing quality they desire and the built-in SPC will help STI maintain tight control of our processes.”

HANDERA expands OEM facility with ACE equipment

ACE Production Technologies, Inc. announced that HANDERA has invested in a KISS-102 selective soldering machine. The KISS-102 selective soldering system has been installed at the HANDERA facility located in Des Moines, Iowa and is the second selective soldering machine HANDERA has ordered from ACE Production Technologies. “The KISS-102 is a fully-configured selective soldering platform equipped with “Super Quick” processing speeds and closed-loop positioning feedback with linear encoders,” said Alan Cable President of ACE Production Technologies. “The KISS-102 comes standard with the ACE automated fiducial location and correction system providing single click fiducial teach capability, seamless fiducial recognition and true automated alignment and skew correction of the printed circuit board.” Cable added, “Other innovative features include the new SWAK-OS machine operating software which is a revolutionary graphics-based programming and editing machine control system that features fast program loading and program recall with minimal operator intervention. A major benefit of the SWAK-OS is the integrated board scanning function that automatically captures and saves an image of a printed circuit board to the selective soldering program.”
