Universal appoints Jeff Knight General Manager
Universal Instruments is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Knight as General Manager of the Advanced Process Lab (APL) and Advanced Technology Assembly Services (ATAS). Knight will operate out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Conklin, NY and will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for Universal’s advanced technology groups at both the Conklin and Rochester, NY facilities while also ensuring an exceptional level of support and success for the existing customer base. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Knight has held leadership positions in engineering, operations and business development for various facets of electronics assembly.
ASC International receives high customer satisfaction scores
ASC International, a manufacturer of 3-D solder paste inspection (SPI) and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems, recently completed a study contracted with an independent third-party satisfaction firm to conduct a survey regarding the company’s overall customer satisfaction rate. “The intent of the survey is to gauge the level of satisfaction our customers have found with our entire product base globally,” National Business Manager Steve Arneson stated. “The customers’ honest feedback helps to create a sounding board for future products, service and support enhancements.” The survey results are as follows: Product/ service delivery times 90% Product ease of use 100% Manufacturing quality 95% Responsiveness to requests 95% Alternative product comparisons 90% Value vs. price comparisons 95% Combined Average Score: 94.2% (422 Customer Submissions) ASC International is committed to tracking the ongoing satisfaction of its customers. Fancort Industries appoints Andres Luna as sales manager
Fancort Industries, Inc., now in its 44th year, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Andres Luna as its Mexico Regional Sales Manager. Mr. Luna attended the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and received his degree in Electromechanical Engineering. He is an industry veteran with 20+ years of experience, primarily in management and sales. “We’re very excited to announce Andres as part of the Fancort Industries team, representing us in Mexico,” commented Jared Sandman, President of Fancort. “With Andres on board and technicians already in place we are strengthening our excellent sales and technical support network in Mexico.”
Analog Devices to Buy Linear Technology for $14.8 Billion
Analog Devices Inc. agreed to acquire Linear Technology Corp. for about $14.8 billion, potentially restarting a scramble by chipmakers to add scale amid record industry consolidation. Analog will pay $60 a share for rival Linear, in cash and stock — a premium of 24 percent to its closing price Monday — the two companies said in a statement Tuesday. They expect to close the transaction by the first half of 2017. Shares in Linear rose as much as 33 percent earlier in New York trading after people familiar with the matter said the two companies were in advanced talks about a deal. They were halted at $62.49, valuing the company at about $14.9 billion. Analog Devices rose as much as 6 percent and was halted at $62.87, valuing it at about $19.3 billion.
ZESTRON releases new virtual tour on website
ZESTRON, announced that ZESTRON Americas has a new virtual tour on zestron.com. “We invite customers and industry professionals to take a 360° tour of our state-of-the-art facility,” says Todd Scheerer, Executive Vice President. “As with any of ZESTRON’s seven facilities, our customers can visit and review cleaning equipment alternatives, conduct cleaning trials with the industries’ most innovative engineered cleaning products, and assess cleanliness results in real time. Visitors can also tour our ZESTRON Academy training and global video conference centers.” As part of ZESTRON’s continuous effort to provide integrated global support, customers can also tour the Technical Centers located in Germany, China and Malaysia as well.
Allied Electronics names two new directors
Allied Electronics has announced the addition of one director and the promotion of another, Rebecca Weiser and Mary Edmonds, respectively. Weiser joins Allied as Product Director in Product Management for the Interconnect, Passives and Electromechanical category of industrial automation products. Prior to joining Allied, Weiser was Global Sales Manager for Future Electronics after serving on the Future DFW (Dallas/ Fort Worth) sales team. She is a business graduate of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Edmonds was promoted to Director of Web Development in Marketing for eCommerce, after serving as Software Development Manager for the past two years. Previous to Allied,
Edmonds served in IT functions in a variety of high-tech industries, including banking, aerospace, healthcare and retail. Edmonds is a graduate of Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida, and holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science for Information Assurance from the University of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. Todd Dezwarte, Ersa’s Product Manager is a 20-year veteran
Kurtz Ersa North America announced Todd DeZwarte’s 20-year anniversary with the company. Dezwarte wears many hats at Ersa as Product Manager – Rework, Inspection & Tools. Ernie Grice, VP of Sales, Kurtz Ersa NA commented, “Todd has been an integral part of the Kurtz Ersa family for a long time. His work ethic, technical ability and loyalty over the years have proven to be greatly beneficial to our company.” Dezwarte joined Kurtz ERSA on August 1, 1996. Since then, he has held various positions from head electrician in the rebuild department, to field service engineer and applications engineer. In 2009 he was promoted to North American Sales Manager for the Rework, Inspection and Tools division.
SAKI America expands sales team with new representatives
Assembly Solutions, JW Sales, and Marketing Engineers of Ohio join Saki team SAKI America, an innovator in the field of automated optical inspection equipment, announces the expansion of its sales network with the addition of three new representatives. Assembly Solutions, JW Sales, and Marketing Engineers of Ohio, Inc. (MEO) will provide sales support for Saki’s complete line of 2D and 3D automated optical, solder paste, and x-ray inspection systems. Assembly Solutions, based in Bellevue, WA, will handle sales in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Assembly Solutions has been representing the Pacific Northwest electronics manufacturing industry since 1988 and specializes in manufacturing, inspection, test, and quality products. Bill Kushner will pilot strategic marketing initiatives
MicroCare Corp. announced Mr. William D. Kushner will be joining the MicroCare team as Executive Director — Strategic Accounts and Marketing. Mr. Kushner spent more than three decades as Vice President, Product Management & Operations at Techni-Tool, one of the largest electronic distributors in the USA, which now is part of W.W. Grainger. He managed or influenced every aspect of Techni-Tool’s success throughout his tenure. He pioneered an innovative supply chain management process that was instrumental to the company’s success. Looking at the big picture, he created long-term strategic plans to increase revenue and develop new markets, such as the acquisition of Wassco by Techni-Tool. He also sought new vendors with which the company could develop true partnerships. These relationships added thousands of new customers and millions of dollars in incremental revenue to the business. “We’re thrilled that Bill is joining the team at MicroCare,” said Mr. Tom Tattersall, MicroCare Chief Operating Officer. “He is extremely well-known across the industry and highly regarded by all.
