Kurtz Ersa North America installs a HR600/2
Kurtz Ersa North America announced that Spinnaker Contract Manufacturing, Inc., a New England-based contract manufacturer, purchased and installed a HR600/2. The highly automated HR600/2 rework system provides a controlled process with the proven Ersa closed-loop rework technology. “The HR600/2 has provided us with a higher level of repeatability in our rework processes,” commented Raya Sar, Spinnaker’s AOI/Rework Technician. “I really like how easy the system is to operate,” added Sherry Sylvester, Inspector/Rework Technician at Spinnaker. ersa-spinnaker-hr600-16 Ersa’s HR600/2 system was purchased to help Spinnaker provide strong repair and rework capability across numerous markets. Continental Automotive USA relies on GOEPEL electronic
Continental Automotive USA has opted for two X-ray inspection systems from GOEPEL electronic. At the production site in Seguin (Texas), highly complex assemblies for the automotive industry are manufactured. The inline inspection system “X Line·3D” performs automatic quality inspection of solder joints and components using 3D X-ray technology. These Automotive assemblies are subjected to particularly stringent quality requirements, which are fulfilled by the GOEPEL electronic X-ray system.x-line-serie-300 The X Line·3D has been chosen after several months of evaluation. The
decisive factor for the decision was the large fault coverage at high speed for use in line production. Electrical assemblies for use in automobiles often have to follow the standards of the IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries). The X Line·3D tests 100 percent of the solder joints, both on the top and bottom side, in cycle time. The inspection is based on the IPC A-610F. The X Line·3D is a system for the safe inspection of double-sided assemblies. The three-dimensional X-ray inspection detects both sides of the PCB within a continuous process. The Technical basis is the use of a real-time multi-angle image acquisition chain, which allows a complete 3D acquisition of the module.
ACE Production Technologies’ Adam Streeter promoted
ACE Production Technologies, Inc. announced the promotion of Adam Streeter as the company’s Mexico Sales and Service Manager. Adam has been with the company for more than 5 years and has previously served in a variety of key support functions including Field Service Engineer and Mexico Field Service Manager. In his new role Adam will be responsible for all sales and customer relations activities throughout Mexico, with all manufacturer’s representatives and field service personnel reporting directly to him. ACE operates service locations and demo facilities in Guadalajara and Juarez in conjunction with Repstronics, a well-known manufacturer’s representative firm, specializing in sales, service and customer support for electronic production materials and equipment. “With the recent addition of Fernando Cabral as our local Field Service Engineer in Mexico, as well as service locations in Guadalajara and Juarez, we have increased our capacity to accomplish new machine installations, upgrade existing machines and carryout customer training throughout Mexico,” said Alan Cable President of ACE Production Technologies.

Cogiscan and Panasonic partner to enable the connected factory

AIM provides IPC-A-610 training in Rio Grande, Argentina
AIM Solder announced that it recently provided the first-ever IPC-A-610 training and certification program to engineers and industry professionals in Rio Grande, Argentina. AIM’s Technical Marketing Engineer, Andres Rojas, provided the Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) training, which is designed to prepare line workers, operators, inspectors, managers and buyers to make informed decisions when assessing the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies according to the IPC quality standard. The training was offered in collaboration with AIM’s local authorized distributor, High Tech Solutions. Of the more than thirty engineers and industry professionals, including several outstanding students from the National Technological University, that participated, eighteen were awarded the Application Specialist (CIS) certification, and the rest were recognized by AIM for
having completed the IPC-A-610 training program. “I am very happy and grateful for this opportunity and the incredible support we received from those who participated,”said Andres Rojas, AIM’s Technical Marketing Engineer.
SED Systems chooses ACE selective soldering equipment
ACE Production Technologies, Inc. announced that Calian’s system engineering division, SED Systems has purchased a KISS-102 selective soldering machine from ACE.
The KISS-102 selective soldering system has been installed at the SED Systems facility located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is the second selective soldering machine SED Systems has ordered from ACE Production Technologies.
“The KISS-102 is a fully-configured selective soldering platform equipped with “Super Quick” processing speeds, heated nitrogen inerting system and automated wave height detection system,” said Alan Cable President of ACE Production Technologies. “The KISS-102 comes standard with the ACE automated fiducial location and correction system providing single click fiducial teach capability, seamless fiducial recognition and true automated alignment and skew correction of the printed circuit board.”
“Other innovative features include the new SWAK-OS machine operating software which is a revolutionary graphics-based programming and editing machine control system that features fast program loading and program recall with minimal operator intervention.
