Eunil presents the ECM-350 Table Coating Master

Eunil presents the ECM-350 Table Coating Master, a highly accurate offline machine for small-quantity batch production. Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are the foundation for electronics in every day products including automotive, consumer electronics, communications, and industrial and energy applications. Due to the evolution of these products, PCBs are often exposed to damaging environments ranging from moisture, dust, and harsh chemicals to extreme thermal cycling and vibration. Coating will provide protection needed. Features include highly accurate and consistent Gantry Robot (X axis) & Table Robot (Y axis), ability to fix various products at Multi JIG, exhauster to inhale odor, and an internal UV lamp. The most common uses for the coating are to inhibit leakage and short circuit due to humidity and contamination, to inhibit corrosion, to improve fatigue life of solder joints to leadless packages, and to provide mechanical support for small parts to prevent damages due to mechanical shock and vibration. The advantages are that the automated selective coating is good for consistency, producing repeatable results. It increases productivity (high throughput and reduced labor costs), improves material utilization, and improves quality with little to no masking.

Austin American’s combined batch cleaner and Rose tester

Austin American Technology has introduced, the AquaRoseTM; the world’s first water based batch circuit board cleaner and ROSE cleanliness tester in one compact automated tool. In keeping with Austin American’s innovative design standards, the new AquaRoseTM cleaner is designed with a set of unique features that provide better quality control, higher throughput, lower acquisition and operating cost, and our “Earth Smart” closed loop DI and chemical wash process saving hundreds of gallons of chemistry and thousands of gallons of water per year. The AquaRose improves the quality control protocol significantly by adding a ROSE cleanliness check in addition to the standard rinse to programmed conductance. This automatic ROSE ionic cleanliness verification can eliminate the need pulling a sample and running a separate ROSE test in a secondary operation saving labor and improving testing accuracy. ROSE testing every batch significantly reduces the chances of “poor cleaning” product escapes causing in test and field failures. These new process control features provide process control limits to be set, monitored and recorded for product/process traceability. The AquaRose uses AAT’s high energy fluid dynamics cleaning design proven and field tested for over 10 years in our older AquaTherm series cleaners. Product drying times have been shortened by 50% with our new rotating head dryers. These dryers provide high volume heated circulating air in-between the circuit cards to achieve the fastest drying times and highest throughput available in the industry. Simplimatic’s solutions increase customer production speed

Simplimatic Automation recently integrated a custom robotic cell for a customer in Denmark. The system includes three FANUC robots, conveyor, and a completely customized 12-station indexing dial manufacturing system. Simplimatic’s engineering team designed the rotating dial to perform 12 individual functions to fabricate an intricate medical device product. The system is designed to preheat and form a medical-grade plastic barrier and join a preformed 2-part seal, labeling the barrier with variable size options, and punching a mounting hole into the product. After mechanical assembly, a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot removes the completed item from the dial and places it on a conveyor for final verification and packaging. “The dial we created was a completely custom piece of equipment,” Waheed Chaudhry, VP of engineering, said. “Our customer identified a need within their facility and we designed the machine to create a solution to that problem, all while increasing their production speed.” The system also incorporates vision, utilizing a SD Sony camera and an HD IP Basler camera positioned above a custom vacuum light table. Both cameras utilize FANUC iRVision software which allows the cameras to locate the product, verify if the light table is clear, and ensure two barriers do not become stacked during production. The indexing dial, robots, conveyor, and vision systems work in tandem to satisfy exacting customer manufacturing requirements.
