Low-odor high-performance adhesive from Panacol
Panacol has a new two-component high-performance structural adhesive in its product range: Penloc GTN is an easy to process methyl acrylate based low-odour adhesive that can be used in a wide variety of applications. Penloc GTN adheres especially well to brass, ceramics, steel, aluminium, PVC and similar materials. The performan ce adhesive boasts a high power transmission capability and excellent thermal stability. It is both flexible and offers superior adhesion. Compared to other methyl acrylate adhesives, it has the advantages of a low odour formation and a long processing time of ten to 15 minutes. To allow effective monitoring of blending quality, the two components of Penloc GTN have different colours that, applied thinly, change to a grey, almost colourless surface as the blend cures. Penloc GTN can be conveniently dispensed from a handy 50 ml double cartridge or from drums connected to dispensing apparatus.
Alpha Introduces SAC305 Ultrafine Cored Wire
Alpha Assembly Solutions introduced ALPHA SAC305 Ultrafine Cored Wire for use in attaching or repairing very fine pitch components approaching 0.20mm. “With the increase of solder joint density and miniaturization, ALPHA SAC305 Ultrafine Cored Wire is an ideal solution where solder paste reflow or other soldering applications are not compatible to the design”, said Bernice Chung, Global Portfolio Manager for Wave Soldering at Alpha Assembly Solutions, a part of the MacDermid Performance Solutions Group of Businesses. “Fine pitch PCB assemblies have higher quality and reliability standards, which requires precise solder wire feeding volume and non-skip solder feeding. Ultrafine cored wire delivers consistent diameter size and flux continuity to ensure unfailing wire feeding, especially in robotic soldering, such as laser soldering technologies”. ALPHA SAC305 Ultrafine Cored Wire offers fast soldering performance and has passed the most stringent reliability tests. It can be used for any customer who has previously approved larger diameter wire using ALPHA Telecore HF-850, Telecore XL-825 or Telecore Plus core fluxes.

Vision Engineering launches a new digital magnifier for portable inspection Vision Engineering has launched Camβ (CamBeta) – a new digital inspection magnifier for portable inspection and documentation. The new magnifier is a handheld inspection device, suitable for a wide range of applications. Camβ provides magnification up to 20x, stores up to 20,000 images and uses grids and cursors for X & Y dimensioning, simply where you want, when you want. With a high resolution colour display, easy button operation and image capture/download capability, Camβ is ideal for roving inspection tasks, documenting faults and inspecting large or immobile subjects. Camβ has been equipped with a dual LED illumination, with 4 settings; high contrast imaging and 30 frames video capture capabilities. A live-view video output via micro HDMI allows for the display of images on a larger screen suitable for training purposes.
Innovative Metcal CV-5200 soldering station available
Ellsworth Adhesives Europe announced the addition of the Metcal CV-5200 Connection ValidationTM Soldering Station to its range of soldering products. Manufactured with an embedded, self-regulating heater, Metcal CV-5200 has been developed to deliver the desired amount of power based on the requirements of the solder joint whilst ensuring a fast, safe and repeatable process with no calibration required. The introduction of its Connection Validation software is an industry first – offering not only control of the tip temperature but also smooth operation in real time with closed loop feedback via a green or red light integrated into the handpiece, to indicate intermetallic compound formation. Metcal CV-5200 is designed to deliver the right amount of power based on the requirements of the solder joint using SmartHeat® technology. SmartHeat technology is built-in to all Metcal soldering systems to automatically ensure a consistent soldering iron tip temperature under a wide range of thermal loads, practically without external adjustments.
