VERMES Microdispensing presents its MDS 3280

VERMES Microdispensing introduced its new MDS 3280 Micro Dispensing Solution of the MDS 3000 Series that convinces with applying ultra-precise application of smallest, identical droplets at highest speed. The jet dispensing system MDS 3280 is based on the proven piezoelectric actuator with all the advantages of contact-free dispensing. To further enhance the extremely fine dispensing, especially for high and highest viscosity media, VERMES Microdispensing has expanded its MDS 3000 series with the MDS 3280 all-round system, which takes state-of-the-art microdispensing technology into new dimensions. “The new MDS 3280 fits seamlessly into our current product portfolio and offers a multitude of applications, addressing all sectors that require high-performance dispensing systems and need to dispense in minimum quantities with maximum process reliability,” says Juergen Staedtler, Managing Director of VERMES Microdispensing.

Techsil launch new, black epoxy underfill adhesive for reflow

A new epoxy-based underfiller called Structalit 8202 has been developed by Panacol and is being launched in the UK by Techsil. Structalit 8202 is a low viscosity one-part adhesive with a high capillary flow and fills the narrowest of gaps. Designed for chip stack packages and BGAs, Structalit 8202 is a high performance underfill material. It is a one-part, black coloured epoxy with low viscosity which flows into very thin spaces. Special features of this product are its low coefficient of thermal expansion and high glass transition temperature. This makes Structalit 8202 stable at high temperatures, allowing usage in reflow soldering processes. Structalit 8202 cures rapidly under the influence of heat. The underfiller can also be cured during reflow processes. Due to its very good compatibility with most lead free solders the adhesive cures completely even if it gets into contact with residues from flux agents. Once cured, the material provides excellent mechanical properties to protect solder joints during thermal cycling.

Thermaltronics launches the TMT-HA100 digital hot air pencil

Thermaltronics has released a new, digital hot air pencil with adjustable controls for air and temperature. The unit features a 200 W heater, capable of providing a temperature range of 100˚C-450˚C and diaphragm pump, delivering 10 L/min. Various nozzle sizes are available, from 1.5-4.0 mm in diameter, making them ideal for fine-point convection rework of surface components. When the unit is not in use, there is a standby mode and auto cool process to cool the heating element and protect it from damage. Once the temperature has reached safe levels, the unit will power down and the LCD display will remain blank. Units are available in both 110V and 220V versions.

Pickering Interfaces PXI Switching Module Selected

Pickering Interfaces announced that the U.S. Air Force, Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill AFB, Utah, recently awarded them a contract for a large quantity of their 6U High-Density Matrix modules (model 45-542) for the PXI switching requirement that is part of the PATS-70A (Portable Automated Test Set) for the O-Level and I-Level maintenance of A-10C aircraft. The contract award calls for Pickering Interfaces to provide their 45-542 P XI switching matrix module for over one hundred PATS-70A systems. This is Pickering’s second large order for matrix modules as they worked with Hill AFB when they deployed the PATS-70 test set in 2014. The PATS-70A program will enhance the capabilities of the PATS-70 test set to support additional armament and weapon systems in addition to supporting the existing avionics test functionality. “We were elated to have been selected to supply these modules for the U.S. Air Force’s mission critical support program,” said Keith Moore, CEO of Pickering Interfaces.

Thermaltronics introduces the TMT-FE100S benchtop system

Thermaltronics introduced a new versatile, benchtop fume extraction system. The unit, which is certified to TUV NRTL and TUVE CE safety standards, is available in both 110V and 220V versions and unlike most other benchtop units, has an adjustable speed control to allow operators to select the best operating speed, dependent on fume conditions. In addition to the pre-filter, which is standard, two other filtration options are available, providing either 90 percent regular filtration or 99 percent hepa filtration. Priced below $200 USD and with a one-year warranty, the TMT-FE100S offers an affordable, versatile approach to the effective removal of soldering fumes generated on the workbench.
