The ELM-800 laser marker by Eunil wins Best Product – Asia at SMTAI
Eunil, a worldwide leader in factory automation as a manufacturer of SMT peripheral equipment, announces that it was awarded a 2016 Global Technology Award in the category of Best Product – Asia for its ELM-800 Laser Marker. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 ceremony that took place at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL during SMTA International.
The Eunil in-line ELM-800 Laser Marker is an automation machine used to add a barcode, QR, 1D, or 2D on PCBs. It is essential for traceability as marking data does not wear off over time. The ELM-800 has minimized marking cycle time by using a laser head with a moving X/Y axis robot and high-speed running conveyor.
A barcode scanner can be integrated as an option, as well as a data communication which transfers marking data to production management systems. Other options available include a vision camera, PCB orientation verification, and precise marking by fiducial mark.
The ELM-800 offers a space efficient design with compact machine length. Laser marking traceability is becoming popular in the industry, as it is a cost-effective alternative to labels. This eliminates the need to replace ink or label paper, and eliminates the need for manual labor.
Premiering in 2005, the Global Technology Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
