Overview: This FREE webinar will cover Aculon’s PCB water-resistant products, NanoProof® with a focus on the recently launched NanoProof products 7.0 and 8.0. Due to the difficulty in achieving IPX7 level protection with traditional coatings Aculon has developed and launch NanoProof 7.0 and 8.0. Two extremely robust water protection options enabling manufacturers to achieve IPX7+ with an easy to apply liquid treatment.

Many OEMs and CEMS have adopted this easy to apply technology as an alternative to conformal coatings. Aculon’s NanoProof® Series offer customers a range of PCB waterproofing solutions from protecting against accidental water damage (NanoProof® 1.0) to device protection at IPX3-5 levels (NanoProof® 3.5,4.0, 5.1), to greater barrier properties that can withstand many hours immersion and some of the most stringent test methods developed for non-hermetic components (NanoProof® 7.0 & 8.0).

Until now, water-resistance product offerings generally fall into two categories: conformal coatings that protect electronics but require some level of process complexity, and vacuum-deposited coatings (also quite tedious and process complex) such as parylene-based treatments. Aculon NanoProof® surface treatments create a third category – no mask solutions based proprietary hydro/oleophobic coatings that are done on an inline basis and deliver the benefits of conformal coatings yet eliminate the need for costly capital investment and avoiding the bottlenecking batch process of vacuum based manufacturing or masking operations. The newly developed 7.0 and 8.0 materials outperform the other classes of material in performance based testing.
